Once you have booked an appointment you will be posted a pack that contains all the information and forms required for your medical.

What you need to bring to your appointment

• Your completed questionnaire
• Something comfortable to exercise in (e.g. shorts and a t-shirt)
• Running shoes
• A towel

What you need to do prior to your appointment

You should have your blood tests at least two days prior to your medical appointment. In the Auckland area these can be done at Labtests. See labtests.co.nz for locations and opening hours. If outside the Auckland area these can be done by your local laboratory.

What to expect at your appointment

The medical appointment usually takes two hours. You will see the exercise physiologist first and your completed questionnaire and blood results will be reviewed. Your biometric measurements will be taken and both a resting and exercise ECG performed. You will then be seen by the doctor and have a full medical examination. The doctor will conclude the consultation by summarising your assessment and providing you with practical advice to enhance your health and wellbeing.

Following appointment, the doctor will write a comprehensive report that includes information from your questionnaire and blood tests, as well as information from your consultation and physical examination. The report discusses your health and wellbeing, and makes recommendations about any lifestyle changes or treatments.

The report is sent to you, at your home address, unless otherwise specified by you during your appointment. A copy can also be sent to your GP, at your request. The turnaround time for the report is approximately two working weeks.

Our cancellation policy

If something unexpected comes up that affects your scheduled appointment please call us as soon as possible to reschedule. If your appointment needs to cancelled or rescheduled within one week of your booked appointment a cancellation fee will apply.

0-1 Business days prior to appointment = 100% of service cost
2-4 Business days prior to appointment = 80% of service cost
5-7 Business days prior to appointment = 50% of service cost
